Five days of separation and a lot of kilometers - Just Go Pink!

Five days of separation and a lot of kilometers

On the morning of the sixth, we say goodbye to Lindsay and David, promising to stay in touch. We leave Blars at exactly 8 o’clock and head for Paris. The last 20 kilometers to the Gare du Nord take us an hour, but we arrive there in time for me to catch the train. We say goodbye outside the train station. From there, we are each going to visit family and friends.

Visiting family and friends

Christophe spends 2 days with his aunt in Paris and then drives to Bavaria to spend 3 days with his family. I spend most of those days with my mum, but also use the opportunity to visit my horse in Mander, and friends in Uelsen, Bad Bentheim and Bilthoven.

Reunion in Zürich

On the evening of the eleventh, I travel by train and airplane to Zürich where Christophe picks me up. Even though we both enjoyed seeing family and friends, it’s sooo good to see each other again after having been separated for five days!

Chaillac, here we come

We drive out of Zürich and soon find ourselves a quiet place to park the car and catch some sleep. Christophe had already made the bed before driving to Zürich, so within 10 minutes of parking the car, we are cuddled up together on the bed and fast asleep. The day has been hot, so we’re sleeping under only a sheet. Unfortunately, the interior of the car cools down during the night, and we wake up at 5 o’clock from the cold.

Which isn’t all that bad, because the roads are very quiet at that hour, so we get dressed and hit the road again. We leave the highway to have breakfast and stumble upon a bakery that also serves breakfast. We do the french thing, and have a hot drink with a croissant and a slice of baguette with butter and honey. Jummie! Later in the morning, we take another break to sleep for an hour or so, and in general, we take it easy. And thus we arrive in Chaillac at around 4 o’clock for our next house sit.
