For the second time this week, we are woken in the dead of night by one of the cats. At 4 o’clock in the morning, Dusty jumps in through the window and demands to be let out of the bedroom. We do as she asks and let her out on the landing. She stops yelling at us and we can go back to sleep.
The incredible thing about this situation is, that our bedroom is on the first floor, and the window is about 3 meters off the ground. But apparently, she doesn’t get to the window from the ground but from the roof. Which is just as hard to imagine, because look at it:
How on earth does she manage to jump down from the roof to the window sill without missing the ledge and crashing to the ground? It’s still a mystery to us.
Fig chutney
We spent most of today working (at our laptops), but we still had all those figs to use up. So we took some time off to convert them into our soon-to-be-famous fig chutney. 1,2 kg of figs yielded 5 pots of chutney. One of those is for Odette, the 79 year old neighbour who provided the figs.
