We were up before the sun today, and thus could enjoy the sunrise during our yoga. Note that our apartment is on the first floor of a house that is located on a street with just the pavement to separate it from the asphalt, and a semi-industrial building on the other side of the road, about 20 meters away. So we can only see the sun once it rises above the roof of said building.
But we nonetheless enjoyed it, within the knowledge that in another 6 weeks or so, we’ll be out of here forever, and will be able to enjoy sunrises in places with no buildings in sight. With the waves of the Atlantic lapping our toes for example. But I’m getting ahead of myself here.
Another confirmed house sit in France
At 10 o’clock we had a Skype call with a very nice English couple, Alison and Andy, who’ve been living in France for 14 years now, and who are in need of house and pet sitters during their absence from the 20th of September until the 7th of November. We had a lovely meeting with them, they in their kitchen in France and we in our living room in Germany, but still able to see each other. Incredibly nice and interesting people. Not 5 minutes after the call ended, they confirmed us as their house sitters for the aforementioned time slot 🙂
Alison is a retired garden designer and has a garden blog. Be warned though ye garden lovers: once you start reading there, it is very hard to stop. It is very well written, engaging, with humor and love. So do head over there if you love gardening, but don’t say I didn’t warn you… 😉
Opel Vivaro, here we come!
I wrote yesterday about our search for another car, and that we had found several Opel Vivaro’s that seem good. Today, we have made the decision for one of them. It’s in Augsburg, which is 700 km from here. But that is near to where Christophe’s family lives, so he asked his son in law Stephan to go check the car out on Monday. Stephan didn’t allow the grass to grow under his feet, went there immediately, and got back to us with good news.
The car dealer that is selling the car will hold it for us until Wednesday 3 o’clock. So Tuesday afternoon, we will go to Greifenberg in order to see (and hopefully buy) the car on Wednesday. It is almost sure now, fingers crossed…
Soup made in heaven
We went grocery shopping and got home with a big bag full of fruits and vegetables. Christophe did his magic in the kitchen, and created a superb soup of cauliflower, Jerusalem artichoke and just a dash of truffle oil. Velvety like…. velvet and soooooo good! I know it was created in our own little kitchen, but it really tasted like something straight from heaven.

Just Go Pink, even when traveling
And then the bell rang. It was the postman (or woman in this case) with a very big package for me. In it was the new suitcase I ordered. I have never owned a suitcase. Have recently acquired a small one from Lidl that I can bring along in a plane as hand luggage, but never anything big. And now this. Cool don’t you think? It can certainly hold everything I need for a month in Tenerife.
