We arrived in Bavaria at Christophe’s family home last Saturday evening. It is so nice to see everybody again, especially the grand children! I never expected to have any, but since Christoohe has two grandchildren (and a third on the way) who are going to grow up with me as their grandfathers partner, I have by default become a grandmother 🙂
I’m not going to risk some idiot using their pictures for pervert purposes, so you’re just going to have to believe me that both Noah and Malea are adorable.
Noah is almost 3 years old and has blond curls that make him look like an angel, which he is not. He’s a small boy growing up to discover who he is, and he has a strong mind of his own. He can be quite a hand full, and I have great respect for the patience of both his parents when dealing with his more difficult moments. Fortunately, most of the time, he’s a real joy to be around.
Malea is almost 3 months old and as sweet as baby girls come. When awake and not hungry, she’s looking around with big eyes, changing her facial expression every 5 seconds or so. She smiles more and more. Only cries when she’s hungry. And she smells incredibly nice….
Balancing work and play
Anyways, although we are here to see the family, this is not a holiday. We still have a lot to do to get our business on the road, so apart from the meals that we take with the family, we are bent over our laptops, figuring out stuff and fine tuning Ananda.
We’re currently in a rather frustrating fase and sometimes get really fed up with the whole enterprise. And since today the weather was sunny and dry, we gave ourselves a break and took Cooper (the dog of Christophe’s son and his wife) for a long walk. Because that is the big advantage of our work and life: we can work where and when we choose to!

We took a brisk walk of about 1,5 hours from the Ammersee back to Greifenberg. It was sunny yet cold, which made it perfect for walking. Part of the walk took us through a forest, which was a bit cold, but another part went through a field and was protected from the wind. There, I got so warm, I even took off my gloves! 😉
Once back home, we were quite refreshed and ready to get back to work. That is, after we had eaten Krapfen with the family. Since we were very preoccupied with eating them, we didn’t take any pictures, but you can find some here. Balancing work and play isn’t always easy, but today we achieved the right balance for the phase of work we are in 🙂
